Stanley G. Payne

Stanley George Payne (born 9 September 1934) is an American historian of modern Spain and European Fascism at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He retired from full-time teaching in 2004 and is currently Professor Emeritus at its Department of History.

He has written on the Spanish Civil War and stated criticisms of the leftist side, as well as stating certain praise for the historian Pío Moa, causing leftist Wikipedia to brand him as "notorious" in its article on Moa.
