In the election campaign of 1937 Vargas warned of an emmenent Communist [[coup d’état]], as had been occurring world-wide, and declared a 90-day state of emergency, issuing the Estado Novo. He further declared that the constitution contained in his pronouncement would not be effective while the emergency lasted and would then be brought to a plebiscite, after which the people could elect a new congress. This stopped the Communist incursion dead in its tracks.

It has none of the qualifications as such but has all of the characteristics of a compromised propaganda machine.

Furthermore, the Wikimedia Foundation dropped any pretense of a "Neutral Point of View" and declared itself to be an activist propaganda organization. The article also claimed that 200,000 Poles were gassed there, bringing the total number of Poles killed to 400,000. The page has also been repeatedly edited to remove confirmed statistics relating to jewish. To be fair to Wikipedia, they removed the misinformation as soon as it was brought to their attention. It’s just a pity that took 15 years.

It seems that as I advance in age, more and more I have come to realize most of the media stars I admired ended up being crypto JEWS. It would break my heart to read the Wikipedia early life of these folks only to learn to my displeasure, the sad truth. The tribe unfortunately has been an integral part of my life and education for more than six decades. Lesson learned. A very short list.

Italian Fascism is often ''incorrectly'' thought of as the "original" Fascism, mostly due to propaganda, but partially due to it being the first connected to [[WWAC]], and that Mussolini [[coined the term]]. A spectacle is a public event or show that is exciting to watch, such as a parade. Fascist were the first to do this and are arguably the best at it. When fascists want to protest or otherwise make a statement, fascists often do a '''March'''. A good example of a successful march would be Mussolini's famous March on Rome, modelled on Caesar's March on Rome, and like Caesar, Mussolini was made to hold power afterward. Fascists were the first to hold public protests in this way, and it is a hallmark of fascism.

=The ancient Romans=

The Romans made spectacle into an artform. Spectacle, from the Latin word spectaculum (Spectacular!), refers generally to a show, a sight, or that which is exposed to public view. The meaning of spectacle can also be extended to include a stage play or even a place at the theatre.

'''Gaius Julius Caesar''' was born on 12 July 100 BC in Rome, son of Gaius Caesar and Aurelia. Governor of Gaul 58-49 BC. Appointed dictator for ten years in 47 B, for life on 14 February 44 BC. Married initially to Cornelia (one daughter, Julia), then to Pompeia, alas to Calpurnia. Assassinated on 15 March 44 BC. Deified in 42 BC.

Caesar was tall, fair-haired, well built and of sound health. though he did suffer from the occasional epileptic fit. The historian Suetonius writes about Julius Caesar: He was embarrassed by his baldness, which was a frequent subject of jokes on the part of his opponents; so much so that he used to comb his straggling locks forward from the back, and of all honours heaped upon him by senate and people, the one he most appreciated was to be able to wear a wreath at all times…..

=Caesar’s early Life=
Caesar grew up in a period of unrest and civil war in [[Rome]]. The increased size of the empire had led to cheap slave labour flooding into the country which in turned made many Roman workers unemployed. The Social Wars created turmoil all over Italy and Marius and Sulla were the great [[fascist]] leaders of the time.

As a member of an old aristocratic family Julius was expected, at the completion of his education, to assume a modest office on the lower end of the long ladder of the Roman political career. However, Caesar was not like other Romans. Already at a young age he had realized that money was the key to Roman politics as the system had by his time suffered increasing corruption and he felt it was time to put a stop to it.

When, Caesar was fifteen years old, his father Lucius died, with him died the fatherly expectations that Caesar should engage on a modest political career. Instead, Caesar now set out to better himself and Rome.

His first step was to marry into a yet more distinguished family. Further he began building a network of connections, some of which with politicians currently out of favor (the supporters of Marius).
But these were dangerous contacts to have. Sulla was leader of Rome and was seeking to wipe out any Marian sympathizers. A nineteen year old Caesar was arrested. But it appears that Sulla chose to spare him, as he did some others. Influential friends managed to have him released, but it was obvious that Caesar would have to leave Rome for a while, in order to let things cool down.

=Caesar goes into Exile=
And so Caesar left Rome to join the army. Naturally, as a member of a patrician family, he didn’t enter the forces as a common soldier. His first posting was as a military assistant to a provincial governor. Thereafter he was posted to Cilicia, where he proved himself a capable and courageous soldier, winning praise for having saved the life of a comrade. It’s believed that his next assignment was in one of the armies which crushed Spartacus’ slave rebellion.
After this, Caesar left the army, yet it was still considered unwise for him to return to Rome. Instead he spent some time in the south of Italy improving his education, in particular rhetoric. Caesar later proved an incredibly talented, if not genial, public speaker and much of this will undoubtedly have come from his training in rhetoric.

Caesar decided to spend the winter on the island of [[Rhodes]], but the ship taking him there was captured by pirates, who held him hostage for about forty days, until a large ransom bought his freedom. During this misadventure Caesar displayed much of the decisive action which should later lead to his world fame.

While captured he joked with his captors, telling them he’d see them all crucified, once he was released. Everyone laughed at the joke, even Caesar himself. But it was in fact exactly what he did once he was released. He hunted the pirates down, captured them and had them crucified.

Caesar’s next task was to organize a force to defend Roman property along the coast of Asia Minor (Turkey).

=Caesar returns from Exile=
Meanwhile the administration in Rome had changed and Caesar could return home. Based on his deeds and military achievements so far, Caesar successfully campaigned for a post in the Roman administration. Caesar served in 63 BC as a quaestor in Spain, where in Cadiz he is said to have broken down and wept in front of a statue of Alexander the Great, realizing that where Alexander had conquered most of the known world at thirty, Caesar at that age was merely seen as a dandy who had squandered his wife’s fortunes as well as his own.

Caesar returned to Rome, determined to achieve political standing. His first wife had died, so Caesar once more entered into a politically useful marriage. Though he divorced his new wife soon afterwards, on suspicion of adultery. The suspicion was unproven, and friends urged him to show greater faith in his wife. But Caesar declared that he could not live with a woman even suspected of adultery. There was some truth in that statement. His enemies were only waiting to ruin him, seeking any chance to exploit a weakness, no matter if true or not.

For the next years, Caesar continued to buy popularity, both with the people of Rome as well as with the high and mighty in important places. Achieving the post of aedile, Caesar used it to his fullest advantage. Bribes, public shows, gladiatorial contests, games and banquets; Caesar employed them all at huge costs, to buy favor.

But he also acted, as was usual for an aedile to renovate public buildings, which naturally also impressed some of the less fickle part of the populace. Caesar well knew that his actions were costing him fortunes. And some of his creditors were calling in their debts. Furthermore, many senators were beginning to dislike this brash newcomer who in the most undignified fashion was bribing his way up the political ladder. But Caesar cared little and bribed his way into the office of pontifex maximus (chief priest).

This new office bestowed upon Caesar not only the sheer status of a powerful position, but so too the post’s dignity granted Caesar a solemn appearance which he otherwise would have struggled to attain. Being a religious post, it also made him sacrosanct as a person. The pontifex maximus was a man very hard to criticize or attack in any way.

=Caesar in Spain=
In 60 BC Caesar’s career took him back to Spain. Aged 41, he was awarded the post of praetor. It may well have been that the senate decided to send the young upstart to a troubled region, in order to have him fail. Trouble had been brewing with the local tribes in Spain for a long time. But Caesar, undaunted by the problems, excelled in his new role.

Caesar discovered a talent for military command which he himself hadn’t known he possessed. The experience he gained in Spain would be of great value in his further career. But more so the ability of capturing some spoils of war for himself, to put his personal finances back to right and repay his debt was what rescued his career. If there was one lesson, Caesar learnt in Spain then it was that war could be politically and financially very profitable.

Through all this, Caesar maintained his own honor, but continued to shrewdly improve his status, his true goal being to improve the state of his beloved Rome.

=Caesar allies with Pompey and Crassus ‘The First Triumvirate’=
In 59 BC Caesar returned to Rome, having proved himself a very capable ruler. He now formed a valuable pact with two of the most prominent Romans of the day, – the ‘first triumvirate’.

The triumvirate helped Caesar achieve his greatest ambition to that day. He was elected consul, the highest office of Rome. The political influence he had built up in his previous years of political struggle, together with the enormous power and influence of [[Crassus]] and [[Pompey]] managed to virtually oust the second consul, [[Lucius Calpurnius Bibulus]], who stayed at home for most of the time, knowing he had little say at all. The historian Suetonius tells of people joking of it being not the joint consulship of ‘Bibulus and Caesar’, but of ‘Julius and Caesar’.

The formation of the ruling triumvirate with Crassus and Pompey was a mark also of Caesar’s determination to push through genuine and innovative measures in the face of a hostile senate which was suspicious of his motives and to ensure that there was some continuity of progressive legislation after his term as consul was over.

Caesar’s laws are indeed seen as more than mere populist measures. For example, tax demands on farmers were cancelled. Public land was allocated to fathers of three or more children. These were laws hardly likely to make Caesar less popular than he was, and yet they reveal that he also possessed insight into the problems weighing on Rome at the time.

Caesar also remarried, once again to a bride from a very influential Roman household. And his daughter Julia was married to Pompey, further cementing his political partnership with the great general.

=Caesar becomes Governor of Gaul=
As his one-year term of office as consul came to an end, Caesar needed to think of finding a new office into which to retire from his current position. For his enemies were that bent on vengeance, to not have held any office would have left him open to attack in the courts and possible ruin.
He therefore obtained for himself the governorship of [[Cisalpine Gaul]], [[Illyricum]], and due to the sudden death of that governor, [[Transalpine Gaul]] for a period of five years, which was later extended for a second term.

Gaul at the time comprised the subjugated region south of the Alps and to the east of the Apennines as far as the river Rubicon, together with a small portion of territory on the other side of the Alps, roughly corresponding with today’s French regions Provence and Languedoc. The following military campaign Caesar then embarked upon against the Gauls is still subject of study to students at military academies today.
Caesar had read and informed himself well in the art of warfare. Now also he should benefit on the experience he had gathered in leading troops in Spain. Caesar had at first been hoping to conquer the lands north of Italy. For this purpose, his first task was to start raising, partly at his own expense, more troops than those which he already commanded as governor. Over the next few years he was to raise a force of ten legions, about 50,000 men, as well as 10,000 to 20,000 allies, slaves and camp followers.

But it was to be in his very first year in office, 58 BC, before many additional troops had been levied that occurrences beyond Caesar’s control should set him on the path to history.

=Caesar defeats the Helvetians=
The tribe of the Helvetians (Helvetii) had been forced from their mountainous homelands by the migration of Germanic tribes and were now pushing into Transalpine Gaul (Gallia Narbonensis).Caesar acted swiftly and shattered the Helvetian invasion in a crushing defeat.

=Caesar defeats the Germans=
But no sooner was this done a large force of Germans, Sueves and Swabians, crossed the Rhine and then entered into the Roman part of Gaul. Their leader Ariovistus was an ally of Rome, but so too was the Gallic tribe of the Aedui, whom the Germans were attacking. Caesar sided with the Aedui. the Germans had had their eye on Gaul for some time, and Caesar wanted to use this opportunity to put a stop to any such ambitions. Gaul was to become Roman, not German. The Germans were the larger army, and the fighting prowess of the Germanic tribesmen was renowned. But they did not possess the iron discipline of the Roman army.

Caesar felt sufficiently confident to meet them in battle. On learning that the Germans believed in a prophecy that they should lose the battle if they fought before the new moon, Caesar forced a battle upon them immediately. The Germans were defeated and large numbers of them were slaughtered, trying to escape the field of battle.

=Caesar defeats the Nervii=
The following year (57 BC) Caesar marched his troops northwards to deal with the Belgae. The Nervii were the leading tribe of the Celtic Belgae and were apparently preparing to attack the Roman forces, as they feared Caesar might otherwise conquer all of Gaul. How right they were in this assumption no one can say with absolute certainty.

But it gave Caesar all the [[reason]] he needed to begin a full-scale war and invade Nervian territory. It was during the campaign against the Nervii that a weakness of Caesar’s tactics was exposed. Namely that of bad reconnaissance. His horsemen were mainly German and Gallic. Perhaps he didn’t sufficiently trust them. Perhaps he didn’t understand how to use them properly as scouts ahead of his army.
but it is due to that oversight that Caesar was taken by surprise several times during his campaigns in Gaul. In one particular incident the Nervii swarmed down on his marching troops. It was only due to the iron discipline of his soldiers that panic did not take hold of the startled troops.

When the decisive battle eventually came, the Nervii fought heroically, and the battle for some time hung in the balance, but eventually they were defeated. With the Nervii smashed the other tribes of the Belgae were gradually forced into submission.

Having conquered most of Gaul, Caesar met up with the two other triumvirs in 56 BC in the town of Luca in Cisalpine Gaul, where it was decided that his governorship of Gaul was to be extended and Crassus and Pompey should once more be consuls.

=Caesar launches attacks on Germany and Britain=
Then in 55 BC another invasion of Germans demanded Caesar’s attention. The Germans were confronted and shattered near today’s town of Koblenz (Germany). Caesar then proceeded in building a bridge across the river Rhine.
His description of events states his troops only took 10 days to construct the wooden bridge. Recent experiments by engineers have indeed proven it possible.

The meaning of the bridge was mainly symbolic. This display of Roman engineering and power was meant to frighten the Germans as well as impress people back home in Rome. (The bridge was used to carry Roman raiding parties into Germany. But appears to have been destroyed by Caesar’s troops shortly afterwards.) The senate however was angered at Caesar’s flouting of the rules. For as governor of Gaul Caesar was by no means entitled to take any action against territory east of the Rhine. But Caesar was not to care for what his enemies in the senate thought of him. With the Germans crushed, he turned to Britain in the same year (55 BC). The following year he launched another expedition into Britain.

These raids on Britain were as such not very successful from a military standpoint. But to Caesar they were invaluable propaganda. Britain was virtually unknown to the Roman world, but for some trading links. Ordinary Romans heard of Caesar fighting near mythical enemies in unknown lands. Meanwhile the senate was seething.

=Gaul rises against Caesar=
On his return from Britain in the autumn of 54 BC, Caesar faced a large revolt of the Belgae. The rest of 54 BC and the following year were spent subduing the rebellious tribes and ravaging the lands of those who had risen against him. But in 52 BC Gaul arose in a massive revolt against its conqueror. Under the Arverni chief Vercingetorix, almost all the tribes of Gaul, except for three, allied against the Romans.

At first Vercingetorix achieved some advances, trying to starve the Romans out of Gaul. Caesar had spent the winter in Cisalpine Gaul and now hurried, at great danger to himself, back to join his troops. Immediately he launched attacks on Vercingetorix allies, overrunning one foe after the other. At the fortified hill town of Gergovia he was however repelled. His lieutenant Labienus had been sent with half Caesar’s force against another tribe, the Parisii. Caesar eventually realized he had insufficient forces to win the siege and withdrew.

=The Battle of Alesia=
Vercingetorix made his fatal error. Rather than continuing his small scale guerilla war against Roman raiding parties looking for food for the army (and so denying Caesar’s men food), he switched to a direct confrontation. The amassed Gallic army then launched a full-scale attack on Caesar’s army and suffered a terrible defeat. Lucky to get away, the remainder of the Gallic force withdrew into the fortified hill town of Alesia. Caesar laid siege to the town. The Gauls watched on as the Romans built a deadly ring of trenches and fortifications around the town.
Vercingetorix did not intervene against the Romans as they built their siege works. Evidently, he was hoping for relief forces to arrive and drive Caesar off. Caesar knew that such a force had been sent for and hence also built an outer trench to defend against any attacks from outside. A massive relief force arrived, gathered from all parts of Gaul. Records describe a force of 250,000 thousand infantry and 8,000 cavalry.

The situation was desperate. The Romans still had a force of 80,000 warriors under Vercingetorix to contain within their siege works and a massive force without. More still, the Roman troops had stripped the surrounding countryside of any food. The Gallic troops had brought little for themselves and now faced the stark choice of having to fight or retreat.

An initial night attack by the Gauls was beaten back. A day and a half later another massive attack was concentrated on one of the main Roman camps. With fierce fighting all around Caesar mounted his horse, haranguing his troops to fight on. He sent his reserve cavalry out into the field to ride around a nearby hill and fall onto the Gauls from behind. Then he finally rushed in to fight in person.

He was never the general who commanded form a distance. And here there was no retreat. There were Gauls on either side of the trenches and to have lost this battle would have meant certain death. Fighting alongside his men he helped drive off the Gauls. Witnesses wrote that some soldiers, either weary from battle or panicked by fear, who sought to flee were grabbed by the throat by Caesar and forced back to their positions. Eventually Caesar’s cavalry emerged from behind the hills and fell into the rear of the Gauls. The attacking Gaul army fell into disorder, panicked and tried to retreat. Many were slaughtered by Caesar’s German mercenary horsemen. The Gallic relief force realized its defeat and retired. Vercingetorix admitted defeat and the day after surrendered in person. Caesar had miraculously won the battle of Alesia (52 BC).

=Caesar, Master of Gaul=
Vercingetorix was paraded through the streets of Rome during Caesar’s triumph celebration years later, during which he was ritually strangled. The inhabitants of Alesia and the captured Gallic soldiers fared little better. they were shared out as slaves among the victorious Roman soldiers, who either kept them to help carry baggage, or sold them to the slave traders which accompanied the army.
It took Caesar another year to quell Gallic resistance to Roman rule. Eventually he assembled all the tribal chiefs of Gaul and demanded their allegiance to Rome. Gaul was beaten, they could do nothing but comply with his demands and Gaul was finally secured as a Roman province.

When Caesar had finished his series of brilliant campaigns, he had changed the [[nature]] of the [[Roman empire]] from a purely Mediterranean realm into western European empire. He had also driven the empire’s frontier up to the Rhine, a natural, easily defendable border, which would become the imperial border for centuries.

=Caesar crosses the Rubicon, takes Rome=
But things turned nasty in 51 BC when Caesar’s governorship of Gaul was revoked by the senate. This left Caesar hanging high and dry, needing to fear prosecution for past irregularities once he returned to Rome. For months on end there was diplomatic negotiations with Caesar remaining in Gaul, until he lost patience with the niceties of political life. In 49 BC Caesar crossed the Rubicon, the demarcation line between his province and Italy. He marched on Rome at the head of his battle-hardened army, where due to an incredible strategy of not resting for Winter, he met no resistance.
Pompey had fled, stealing Rome's treasury, all the soldiers, and leaving everything in disarray. The was looting and chaos. Caesar's first task was to have himself appointed temporary dictator, a post of the republic set aside for emergencies, during which one man would be given absolute powers.
Accustomed to working at top speed from his time in Gaul, he dictated letters to two secretaries while on horseback, Caesar went to work.

=Caesar defeats Pompey=
Caesar might have ruled Rome. But things were far from under control, just because the capital lay in his hands. The entire state of Rome was under threat and only one man could stop Caesar – Pompey. But Pompey, though an excellent general, deemed superior to Caesar by many, didn’t possess the troops, save 3 legions. So he withdrew his troops from Italy to gain time to train them. Caesar tried to stop him at that point but failed.

But with Pompey forced to flee eastwards, Caesar was left to turn to Spain to put the Pompeian legions there out of action. Not so much by fighting as by skillful maneuvering was Caesar by his own admission for once outgeneraled. However, the campaign was brought to a success in six months, most of the troops joining his standard. During this time Caesar regained control of Rome's treasury.
Caesar now turned east to deal with Pompey himself. The Pompeians controlled the seas, causing him great difficulty in setting across to Epirus, where he was shut down within his own lines by a much larger army of Pompey in November.

Caesar avoided a pitched battle with some difficulty, whilst waiting for [[Mark Antony]] to join him with the second army in spring 48 BC. Then, in midsummer of 48 BC Caesar met Pompey on the plain of Pharsalus in Thessaly. Pompey’s army was much larger, though Pompey himself knew them not of the same quality as Caesar’s veterans. Caesar won the day, utterly destroying the force of Pompey, who fled to Egypt. Caesar followed, though Pompey was eventually assassinated on arrival by the Egyptian government.

=Caesar in the East=
Caesar in hot pursuit of Pompey arrived in Alexandria, only to get entangled in the quarrels of succession to the throne of the Egyptian monarchy. Initially asked to help settle a dispute, Caesar soon found himself attacked by Egyptian royal troops and needed to hold out for help to arrive. The few troops he had with him, barricaded the streets and held off their opponents in bitter street fighting.
The Pompeians still controlling the seas with their fleet, made it impossible for Rome to send help. He was forc3d to succed using mercenaries.

Caesar did not leave Egypt at once. The legendary charms of the woman he had made queen of Egypt, Cleopatra, persuaded him to stay a while as her personal guest. Such was the hospitality that a son, named Caesarion, was born the following year.

Caesar first dealt with king Parnaces, the son of Mithridates of Pontus, before returning to Rome. Pharnaces had used the Roman’s weakness during their civil war to recover his father’s lands. It was after this crushing victory in Asia Minor (Turkey) that he sent his celebrated message to the senate ‘veni, vidi, vici’ (I came, I saw, I conquered.)

=Caesar, Dictator of Rome=
Back home Caesar had been confirmed dictator in his absence, an appointment which was regularly renewed thereafter. With this began an era, the rule of Rome being held by men who successively held the name Caesar, by birth or adoption.
But the fact that Caesar had not returned home at once had given Pompey’s sons enough time to raise new armies. Two more campaigns were needed, in Africa and Spain, culminating in the battle of Munda on March 17, 45 BC. In October of that year Caesar was back in Rome. Quickly it showed that Caesar was not merely a conqueror.

=Caesar the great benefactor=
Caesar was a builder, a visionary statesman, the likes of which the world rarely gets to see. He established order, began measures to reduce congestion in Rome, draining large tracts of marshy lands, gave full voting rights to the inhabitants of his former province south of the Alps, revised the tax laws of Asia and Sicily, resettled many Romans in new homes in the Roman provinces and reformed the calendar, which, with one slight adjustment, is the one in use today.
Caesar’s colonial policy, combined with his generosity in granting citizenship to individuals and communities, was to rejuvenate both the Roman legions and the Roman governing class. And Caesar, who included some provincial aristocrats in his enlarged Senate, was perfectly aware of what he was doing.

But despite the pardons he granted to his old senatorial enemies, despite not drowning Rome in blood like Sulla and Marius had done, when they had seized power, Caesar failed to win over his enemies.

=The Murder of Caesar=
Five months after his arrival back in Rome, Caesar was dead, at the hands of a band of senatorial conspirators led by Marcus Junius Brutus (d 42 BC) and Gaius Cassius Longinus (d 42 BC), both former Pompeians who’d been pardoned by Caesar after the battle of Pharsalus.
He was, at the excuse of some of the conspirators, who claimed to want to present a petition to him, lured into one of the back room of Pompey’s Theatre in Rome. (The rooms of the theatre were used for senatorial affairs, while the senate building was being restored.) There the conspirators pounced, and Caesar was stabbed 23 times (15 March 44 BC).

HI I wasn't thinking "boomer" related, I was going for idea that those older than current members can be heroes in any work. The article was about age bashing not "boomers". While I am not ever going to post a pick of myself, I can't think of any other "boomers" natsoc related that would want their images here. For some reason there were lines containing only a period character. The image was marked as a thumbnail, I don't know why. I changed it to frameless, right justified, 225px. I hope thats ok. I also moved the image to the top where it belongs. It had no categories, so I just placed it in the History category. I removed a link to the third mountain division that seemed to serve no purpose. Im working on 13 percent heart function as of today. Severe emphysema is leaving me breathless most of the time. Stage 3 kidney disease and I have congenital Myasthenia so my muscles are gone and have lost 50 pounds in 5 months. I look like a deflated leather bag. I can barely walk. This is a list of things that will help the noobs contribute to Fascipedia better, and not piss Archangel off and make him whine so much.

*Try to divide your article into bite-sized chunks. Unless your article is a Definition, or a Stub, it should have at least one section.

* Stubs and definitions do not need an image.
* Archie likes to randomly colorize black and white images. If you upload an image and you would rather he didn't just let him know.
* All articles should have at least one link. All links should either lead to another article already on fascipedia, or to an article that you intend to write. Red links suck ass, and should always be temporary.
* Articles should have at least one link leading to them. Articles eithout a link leading to them are called orphans. Use the "what links here" menu item to check. A list of orphaned articles can be found in the "special pages" section.
* Do not capitalize "jew" or similar word.
* All articles should have at least one category. See <nowiki>[[Category:Core categories]]</nowiki> for a list of acceptable categories. Do not invent categories. Archangel has a system, don't make extra work for him. Stick to the categories he creates. If your category is in red, you have probably messed up.
*Archie would appreciate if new articles contained at least one link and at least one category and no wierd stuff like all CAPS or anything like that.
* Your articles should be professional and not employ slang or pointless insults. If you do, somebody will either correct it, or plant a <nowiki>{{preach}}</nowiki> tag on it.
* All articles (except defs and stubs) should have at least one image. That image should be in png format. Jpgs look shitty, are obsolete, and deteriorate over time.

first i want to thank you again for all of the support you have given to fascipedia and to my friend arch. he talks about you quite a bit. second is the reason im posting this is because i noticed that two of your article got deleted by archies bot and i want to tell you how to avoid that. I looked at the logs and saw they were pictures-only. The bot considers those a blank page, and deleted them. articles should have at least one link and one category. i know you were probably unaware of that. by the way, you have an amazing collection of images! archie always tells me when hes uploading a batch for you, and i enjoy watching them as they come in. i know arch in real life, we both live in Alaska. HI I wasn't thinking "boomer" related, I was going for idea that those older than current members can be heroes in any work. The article was about age bashing not "boomers". While I am not ever going to post a pick of myself, I can't think of any other "boomers" natsoc related that would want their images here. (Other than Archie or Francis) Frankly I found the article highly offensive and know for a fact I am not alone in the movement over 50. I am a "boomer" and VERY active for our future.
PS the word Fuck is unnecessary and childish in a wiki setting.

I don't plan on doing any more article stub and edits than I am doing now. My health has taken a very serious decline though I will continue to participate as I have so far (financially). Brother, I just spent a hour fixing the [[Gott mit uns]] article. You can see the changes [https://fascipedia.org/index.php?title=Gott_mit_uns&type=revision&diff=20976&oldid=20948 HERE]. Please have a look at how the article is formatted. Notice that the title is worded so that it can be easily linked from other articles. For some reason there were lines containing only a period character. The image was marked as a thumbnail, I don't know why. I changed it to frameless, right justified, 225px. I hope thats ok. I also moved the image to the top where it belongs. It had no categories, so I just placed it in the History category. I removed a link to the third mountain division that seemed to serve no purpose. It was formatted like an external link, and was not part of any sentence or anything. I added the stub tag. If you don't know how to do this stuff, I am happy to show you. Being an older guy and severely National Socialist I want to contribute as much as I can as time draws down, A bit of inside baseball so to speak. I have just been turned down for a heart transplant. Im working on 13 percent heart function as of today. Severe emphysema is leaving me breathless most of the time. Stage 3 kidney disease and I have congenital Myasthenia so my muscles are gone and have lost 50 pounds in 5 months. I look like a deflated leather bag. I can barely walk. I am now blind in my Left eye. Diabetes is killing the rest of me. This (Fascipedia) is my last way to help our people. Ok, this is what you are running into with the big images. hires images are really big, so they have to be shrunk so they don't mess up archies pages. This is a list of things that will help the noobs contribute to Fascipedia better, and not piss Archangel off and make him whine so much.

*Try to divide your article into bite-sized chunks. Unless your article is a Definition, or a Stub, it should have at least one section.

* Stubs and definitions do not need an image.
* Archie likes to randomly colorize black and white images. If you upload an image and you would rather he didn't just let him know.
* All articles should have at least one link. All links should either lead to another article already on fascipedia, or to an article that you intend to write. Red links suck ass, and should always be temporary.
* Articles should have at least one link leading to them. Articles eithout a link leading to them are called orphans. Use the "what links here" menu item to check. A list of orphaned articles can be found in the "special pages" section.
* Do not capitalize "jew" or similar word.
* All articles should have at least one category. See <nowiki>[[Category:Core categories]]</nowiki> for a list of acceptable categories. Do not invent categories. Archangel has a system, don't make extra work for him. Stick to the categories he creates. If your category is in red, you have probably messed up.
*Archie would appreciate if new articles contained at least one link and at least one category and no wierd stuff like all CAPS or anything like that.
* Your articles should be professional and not employ slang or pointless insults. If you do, somebody will either correct it, or plant a <nowiki>{{preach}}</nowiki> tag on it.
* All articles (except defs and stubs) should have at least one image. That image should be in png format. Jpgs look shitty, are obsolete, and deteriorate over time.

HI I wasn't thinking "boomer" related, I was going for idea that those older than current members can be heroes in any work. The article was about age bashing not "boomers". While I am not ever going to post a pick of myself, I can't think of any other "boomers" natsoc related that would want their images here. (Other than Archie or Francis) Frankly I found the article highly offensive and know for a fact I am not alone in the movement over 50. I am a "boomer" and VERY active for our future.
PS the word Fuck is unnecessary and childish in a wiki setting.

I don't plan on doing any more article stub and edits than I am doing now. My health has taken a very serious decline though I will continue to participate as I have so far (financially). I also moved the image to the top where it belongs. It had no categories, so I just placed it in the History category. I removed a link to the third mountain division that seemed to serve no purpose. Im working on 13 percent heart function as of today. Severe emphysema is leaving me breathless most of the time. Stage 3 kidney disease and I have congenital Myasthenia so my muscles are gone and have lost 50 pounds in 5 months. I look like a deflated leather bag. I can barely walk. From the outset, the war did not go well for the Japanese. Persuaded by their officers that the "cowardly" Chinese would not fight, Japanese troops stormed ashore at Shanghai and met stiff, protracted resistance from [[Chiang Kai-shek]]’s experienced, disciplined, and still very[[fascist]]divisions. Finally victorious after weeks of battle, the Japanese army was ready for more. The next city to be attacked, was Chiang Kai-shek’s capital of Nanjing.

The communist narrative:
After driving out the Chinese troops, the Japanese army undertook a horrific massacre of the civilian population, with victims numbering from 80,000 to 300,000, depending on whose statistics one believes.

It is a simple fact that newspapers, photos, documentary films, records and testimonies in those days all tell the Nanking Massacre of 300,000 people, a large-scale massacre or even a small-scale massacre, did not take place. According to investigators, the so-called Nanking Massacre was a fabrication and false propaganda spread by Chinese Communists for propaganda purposes.

Just before the Japanese occupation, the population of the city was about 200,000. Newspapers in those days had numerous photos of Chinese citizens who had come back to Nanking and lived peacefully, buying, selling and smiling with Japanese soldiers.

The day when the Japanese troops entered Nanking, more than 100 press reporters and photographers entered together with them. The press corps were not only from Japan, but also from European and American press organizations, including Reuters and AP. However, none of the press corps reported the occurrence of a massacre of 300,000 people. Paramount News (American newsreels) made films reporting the Japanese occupation in Nanking but did not report the occurrence of a massacre.

The British newspaper North China Daily News, which was published in China in English on December 24, 1937, eleven days after the Japanese occupation of Nanking, carried a photo taken in Nanking by their photographer. The photo was entitled “Japanese distribute gifts in Nanking.” In the photo are Japanese soldiers distributing gifts, and Chinese adults and children receiving the gifts and rejoicing.

It often comes across not merely as the work of yet another pathological Khazarian liar. It also comes across as the ranting & raving of a truly psychotic, terminally sick & depraved, sexually darkly deviant, ''adolescent''.
The sort of sly little, shifty-eyed bastard, pretending to be puppy, (wag-wag that tail), that you really wouldn't want your virgin daughter dragging home. For a sleep over.

=Biography=
Gobineau came from an old and well-established family from Bordeaux. His father Louis (1784-1858), a military officer, was for a time retained in [[Spain]] (1823-28), and the son’s education was left to his mother and her lover, Charles Sottin de la Coindière, who was Arthur’s private tutor. Having failed to enter the military academy of Saint-Cyr (1835), Arthur settled in Paris and lived on an allowance from a wealthy uncle, Thibault-Joseph (1775-1855). He frequented the [[legitimist]] circles that supported the elder branch of the Bourbon dynasty and made influential friends. He collaborated with some periodicals and from time to time attended the lectures of the Orientalist Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857) at the Collège de France. In 1846, he married Clémence-Gabrielle Monnerot Destourelles, a Creole from Martinique. they had two daughters.

His acquaintance with Alexis de Tocqueville in 1843 was decisive for his diplomatic career. In June 1849, [[Tocqueville]] became minister of foreign affairs and appointed him as his chef de cabinet. He Then entered the diplomatic service and held the following posts: first secretary, French legation, Bern (1849-53); chargé d’affaires, Hanover (temporary mission, 1851); first secretary, French legation, Frankfurt (1854); secretary, French mission, Tehran (1855-58, chargé d’affaires from October 1856); mission to Newfoundland (1859); minister, Tehran (1862-63); Athens (1864-68); Rio de Janeiro (1869-70); Stockholm (1872-77).

Although he took his duties seriously, he was an unruly civil servant, and his diplomatic posts enabled him to nurture his restlessness as well as several amorous quests. His liaison with the Contessa Mathilde de la Tour, from 1872, led to his separation from his wife and daughters (1876) and to the selling of his Château de Trye (1878), which had been bought with his uncle’s inheritance in 1857, and also accounted for his retirement.

During his return visits to France, he was active in local politics and administration. He was elected mayor of Trye in November 1863. During the Franco-Prussian war (1870-71), he succeeded in reducing the excessive war contribution imposed by the Prussians. He resigned from his post as a mayor (November 1870) and witnessed and condemned the Paris Commune insurrection and its aftermath (March-May 1871).

From June 1875, he went on travels (Hamburg, Berlin, Paris, and Carlsbad). He accompanied his friend Dom Pedro II, the emperor of Brazil, through Russia, Turkey, and Greece (autumn 1876). After a prolonged tour of Rome, Florence, Vienna, and Berlin, he returned to Paris where the minister of foreign affairs, Louis Descazes, forced him to retire from the service (January 1877). His last years were spent mostly in Italy, with brief sojourns in France and Germany. He settled at Rome in October 1877, aspiring to become a professional sculptor. After a last stay at Madame de la Tour’s Château de Chaméane, Auvergne (summer 1882), he left again for [[Italy]] and died in Turin.

=Associations=
Gobineau befriended and corresponded with many [[intellectuals]] and [[politician]]s, and most notably with Alexis de Tocqueville (historian and politician, 1805-59); Anton Prokesch von Osten (Austrian Orientalist and diplomat 1795-1876), met at Frankfurt, 1854; Edward Robert Bulwer-Lytton (1st Earl of Lytton, English diplomat and poet 1831-91, viceroy of India, 1875-80), met at Athens 1865; Dom Pedro II, emperor of Brazil (1825-91; r. 1841-89), met at Rio, 1869; the counts Florimond de Basterot (1836-1904) and Ugo Sanvitale (1825-86), both met at Rome; Richard Wagner (1813-83), met at [[Rome]], 1876, with whom he stayed at Beruit. He also kept a regular correspondence with his family and numerous relations, and with acquaintances both in France and abroad.

=Honors=
Although he often expressed his contempt for successive French governments, Gobineau sought official honors eagerly. He was granted The Légion d’Honneur (chevalier, 1851, officer, 1855, commandeur,1868). He also received major decorations from Germany, Persia, Brazil, and Sweden; but he failed in his attempts to enter The Académie des sciences morales et politiques (1854) and The Académie française(1871). In 1853 he bestowed on himself the title of comte.

=Author=
For a long time, Gobineau enjoyed a higher reputation in [[Germany]] than in France. From the outset, he was generally perceived as a gifted amateur, his literary production ranging from political articles to verse romances, feuilletons, and a stage play in verse. His early criticism of the French literary establishment made him many enemies<ref>(Études critiques 1842-1847)</ref>. His Essai (1853-55), revealing his interests as a [[moralist]] and [[ethnologist]], made little impact beyond the close circle of his friends (Charles de Rémusat, Ernest Renan, and Alfred Maury). He expected but did not receive the approval of Alexis de Tocqueville or of the German Orientalists Georg Heinrich August von Ewald (1803-75) and August Friedrich Pott (1802-87). Initially inspired by the Saint-Simonian ideas of Victor Courtet, The Essai was an eclectic work based on several contemporary German publications, including Ewald’s and Pott’s <ref>(see Œuvres I, pp. 1235 ff.)</ref>. RaTher than expounding [[racial]] and political problems, this romantic and pessimistic vision of human history delved into the author’s personal myth. His unhappy childhood and youth perhaps accounted for his dark vision of humanity and his permanent quest for his allegedly noble origins. He conceived his three main works as a triptych based on ethnic analysis: The Essai, The Histoire des Perses (1869), and The Histoire d’Ottar Jarl, pirate norvégien (1879), retracing his fanciful genealogy <ref>(Œuvres I, pp. 1219, 1279, 1470, note 3)</ref>. Conceived in his youth, The Essai was the basis of all his future work<ref>(Œuvres I, p. 1173)</ref>.

=Missions=
His Persian missions may have been for him a second birth, although his achievements as an [[Orientalist]] remain controversial. From his early youth, he had shown a fondness for such literary figures as Ariosto, Cervantes, Lord Byron, and Sir Walter Scott. He enjoyed reading TheThousand and One Nights</ref>(in Antoine Galland’s translation)</ref>, and he admired [[medieval]] chivalrous qualities and endowed his heroes with Them. He excelled as a storyteller, and his short stories were filled with his recollections of Greece and Newfoundland (Souvenirs de voyage, 1872) and Persia<ref>Nouvelles asiatiques, 1876</ref>. He regarded Les Pléiades (1874) as his best work of fiction in prose<ref>(Œuvres III, p. 929)</ref>.
His sudden interest in sculpture (AThens, 1866) occupied much of his time, along with his continuing poetic ambitions, although in both his achievements were somewhat mediocre. He was increasingly haunted in his final years by the notion of European decadence<ref>Œuvres III, Gaulmier’s introduction, p. xlvi f.</ref>

=Orientalism=
His involvement in Oriental history became more serious when he became a member of the Société Asiatique (1852) and entertained friendly relations and correspondence with its president Jules Mohl (1800-76). His meeting with Prokesch-Osten and furTher correspondence with him, notably on [[numismatics]], increased his interest in Orientalism<ref>(Gaulmier, ibid, pp. xiii ff.)</ref>. But it was his two [[Persia]]n missions which provided the stimuli and the material for his interest in the east. His keen observations on Persian people, life, customs, religions, art, architecture, etc. were, however, biased by his constant need to verify his racial Theories.

Moreover, he never acquired sufficient basic training for his ambitious linguistic and historical projects, although apparently, he devoted much time in learning Persian with “Mirza Agha,” his informant on dialects<ref>Duff, Lettres persanes, p. 65; Correspondance Prokesch, p. 61</ref>. His extant incoherent transcriptions are evidence of his limited knowledge of written Persian poetry and prose. His research on [[Iran]]ian dialects and his fanciful Theories on the origins of the Afghans <ref>Boissel, 1974, pp. 338, 341 ff.</ref> led nowhere. In spite of the research already undertaken by Eugène Burnouf (q.v.), Henry Creswicke Rawlinson, and Jules Oppert, on the decipherment of the cuneiform script (q.v.), Gobineau published his Lecture des textes cunéiformes (1858), conceived as part of a book on the genealogical history of the Iranian nations and in which he opposed Their views. He thought that the cursive script predated the cuneiform, and he regarded the latter as an Iranian invention, and the language of the texts still being used in the 3rd century C.E.<ref>Boissel, 1974, p. 373</ref> the book had a hostile critical reception <ref>(Boissel, 1974, pp. 355 ff.).</ref> During his second Persian mission, he renewed his contacts with such scholars as Rabbi Mollā Lālazār Hamadāni and pursued his cuneiform studies. In his Traité des écritures cunéiformes (1864), based essentially on “rabbinical, Arabic and semiticized Parsi traditions” he further interpreted cuneiform through [[Gnostic]] and talismanic notions, resulting in even harsher criticism of his Theories <ref>Œuvres II, Gaulmier’s introduction, pp. xlii ff.</ref>. From 1856 he started to write parts of his Histoire généalogique des nations iraniennes, published as Histoire des Perses (1869), a work devoid of any scholarly value. Discarding historical chronology and existing European scholarship on the topic, he relied mainly on legendary and epic literature such as The Kuš-nāma<ref>Gaulmier, ibid. pp. xxiv ff</ref>, this long post-Ferdowsian epic was also used in his poem “Ferydoun,” which was focused mainly on the antagonism between the Assyrians as Semites and the Iranians as Aryans<ref>Molé, pp. 117 ff.; on Gobineau’s historical method, see Minorsky, pp. 118 f.</ref>

His experiences in Persia enabled him to write his three best Oriental works. Trois ans en Asie (1859) is a lively account of his first voyage and sojourn in Persia, which is complemented by his abundant correspondence. Influenced by his racial Theories and esoteric views, Lesreligions et philosophies dans l’Asie centrale (1865) is based on personal contacts and observations, notably on [[Babism]] (q.v.) and its recent evolution (chapters 6-12), and about the taʿzia-ḵᵛāni (chapters 13-16). Apart from Chardin (q.v.) and some English authors, Gobineau is dismissive of previous accounts of Persia by westerners and does not usually quote Them. He also expresses a dislike for Joseph Philippe Ferrier (q.v.), who was Rawlinson’s friend (Boissel, 1974, pp. 298ff.). On taʿzia-ḵᵛāni, he does not mention any previous accounts (Calmard, Mécénat, i., pp. 82 ff., 96 ff., 106 ff.; ii., pp. 135 ff.). In his Nouvelles asiatiques (1876), he does, however, acknowledge James Morier’s merits. His “Gambèr-Aly” is a replica of Hajji Baba (q.v.). Most of his heroes and landscapes can be identified from his personal notes and correspondence.

=Negotiator=
He settled the costly ransom for de Blocqueville, who had been taken captive by the Turcomans (ibid, p. 163). He had problems with some members of Lt. Colonel V. Brongniart’s military mission (1858-67), particularly in settling the case of a certain Captain Rous in a dispute with the Persian government over the delivery of arms (ibid, pp. 165 ff., 186 ff., 203 f; Boissel, 1993, p. 162). He generally disliked eastern Christians, and particularly the Armenian [[Catholic]]s in Isfahan (Hytier, Dépêches, pp. 227 ff., 256 ff.). He took in charge the Italian mission (October 1862). While frequenting minor scholars, he maintained close contacts with such eminent and learned men as Reżāqoli Khan Hedāyat and Lesān-al-Molk Sepehr and kept up a constant flow of reports on the political situation within Persia as well as on the external relations with her neighbors.

=Racialism=
Along with his pessimistic vision of human history and decadence, Gobineau systematized racial ideas widespread among his predecessors and contemporaries. Soon to become fashionable in German intellectual circles, his Theories gave birth to [[Gobinism]], an extrapolation of his views about the superiority of the white race and above all the Aryans. Even Babism, whose tenets were first introduced to the general public in Europe through Gobineau, was also at the outset regarded as a kind of Gobinism. He may be considered as a harbinger of genetics (Poliakov, p. 244), but it must also be pointed out that his followers misleadingly promoted him as the father of modern political [[racism]], although he was not a [[Pan-Germanist]], an [[Anti-Semite]], or a [[nationalist]]. He extolled regionalism and the respect for cultural differences. Political racist Theories continued however to be elaborated in his name by such authors as Georges Vacher de Lapouge (1854-1936). Wagner’s son-in-law, Houston Stewart Chamberlain (1855-1927), who had a direct influence on Adolf Hitler, disliked Gobineau’s Theories and philosophy (Boissel, 1993, pp. 13, 112). the fiftieth anniversary of Gobineau’s death was officially commemorated at the Sorbonne (Paris, 17 February 1933), and a centennial colloquium was held at the École normale supérieure (Paris, November 1982).

The misidentification of [[fascism]] and of tyranny, of which fascism itself is actually completely unlike, cripples the pursuit of the truth. Tyranny itself is generally the rule of an individual whose whims and desires take the place of law and who typically governs in an extreme and cruel manner. It is an unjust type of governance, and one which can take many forms. It therefore requires a sense of justice in the observer if it is to be identified in any of them.

When [[Mussolini]] took [[Plato']]s Idea of a Republic and coined it "fascism", and it first appeared by that name in Italy in 1915 and then, much later, in its German flavor, as German [[National Socialism]], scholars and intellectuals had a hard time identifying it as just that. they had devised and come to believe in new modes of thinking about political things, including ostensibly scientific modes, which did not require weakness. Fascism seemed a new thing, even if it went all the way back to [[Plato]], just like their science. Increasingly, since that time, the same groups have had a hard time just identifying fascism as itself, because it has been unjustly tagged as evil.

Partly in response to these problems, the political [[philosopher]], Leo Strauss, once wrote that fascism of the National Socialist variety, “had no other clear principle than the murderous hatred of jews”. This actually points to one of the things that makes the matter so difficult for people grasp. The other features of National Socialism, in particular, and fascism, in general, are lost behind such a big lie.

In practical terms, this last fact means that concerned persons must always be vigilant. It also means that the kind of labor required to properly identify fascism as a gift, and as a salvation, if and when it returns, so that it can be effectively embraced, is continuous by its nature.

Politics is a distinctly human phenomenon (man is a political animal, in other words), and human beings are changeable and finite – there can be no permanent solutions to political problems, only an ongoing series of efforts to address them.

As an officer in the Ustasha army, he was the founder and first commander of the [[Black Legion]] , an elite Ustasha unit that he led in numerous battles against Chetniks and Yugoslav partisans. He died as a result of being tortured in partisan captivity.

==Youth and emigration==
He was born in the hamlet of Vivoz near the town of Otočac, in the family of his mother Kate and father Juraj. He finished elementary school in Otočac , where he later went to high school and finished it in Senj . His uncle paid for his further education, and he earned his high school diploma in Križevci . In 1931 he enrolled in the study of law in Zagreb, and in the same year he joined the Ustasha movement.<ref>Independent State of Croatia, ed .: Sabrina P. Ramet, p. 236.</ref> In 1933, he ended up in prison on charges of pro-Croatian Ustasha propaganda and was expelled from Zagreb for 5 years. In March 1933, he emigrated to Austria and then to Italy, where he received the rank of Ustasha lieutenant colonel. He took the Ustasha oath on April 24, 1933.<ref>Ivan Košutić - Birth, life and death of a state: 49 months of the Independent State of Croatia, Stručna i poslovna knjiga doo, 1997, p. 506</ref> When Vjekoslav Servatzy took over the leadership of the Ustasha camp Janka-puszta in Hungary in 1934, Francetić was appointed his aide. In 1936 he returned to Italy, was interned on the island of Giglio, and at the end of 1937 he returned to his homeland.

Upon his return, he was arrested and imprisoned in his homeland. Nevertheless, in 1938 he managed to come to Zagreb, where he intended to continue his studies, but soon, in the same year, he was called up to serve in the [[Royal Yugoslav Army]] in Nis. After completing his military service during which he acquired the rank of sub-sergeant, he returned to Zagreb and continued with [[Ustasi]] promotion, distributed leaflets and brochures, received and organized new members of the Ustasha movement in Lika. He was arrested again for this activity and at the end of 1940 he was sentenced to prison and expelled from Zageb at the beginning of 1941, he moved to Germany.

==Activities in the Independent State of Croatia==
After the proclamation of the [[Independent State of Croatia]], he returned to his homeland, and Ante Pavelić appointed him Ustasi commissioner for Bosnia at the end of April. In Sarajevo, he was working on the establishment of a new government and the organization of Ustasha units. In September 1941 (after the death of Bećir Lokmić) he took command of the units of the Sarajevo Ustasi camp, which grew into the [[Black Legion]] . After the successful actions of the Black Legion in eastern Bosnia, he was promoted to the rank of Ustasha lieutenant colonel in March 1942. On April 10, 1942, he sent a telegram from the banks of the Drina to [[A. Pavelić]] that the Ustasi army had set foot on the eastern historical borders. He received the rank of Ustasha colonel after successful actions in Kupres and around Bugojno, where the Black Legion was sent in July 1942 (He was replaced at the head of the Black Legion by Rafael Boban.) In the summer of that year, he was appointed commander of the standing Ustasha army. In September 1942, he was accompanied by A. Pavelić on the occasion of his visit to [[Adolf Hitler]] and Croatian legionnaires on the eastern battlefield. The day before taking off in Lika, Francetić sent Pavelić a letter reading:

On December 22, 1942, the communist partisans severely damaged the plane that Francetić was flying to Gospić and forced him to land near the village of Močile near Slunj, which was communist-controlled territory. Francetić went on a new mission in Lika, where he was to take command of the Ustasha and Home Guard units there. Due to a malfunction on the engine, his plane was flown by Home Guard Ensign Mijo Abičić, forcibly descended near the village of Močila, not far from Slunj. Francetic and his pilot were immediately captured by partisans, who allowed communist loyalists to attack and torture them. They severely wounded them, and Francetic was transferred to a communist hospital where surgeons tried to save his life in exchange for 100 captured partisans but failed. Francetic died on December 27, 1942.

=Other actions of Jure Francetić=
In 1942, a massacre of Orthodox people took place in the municipality of Vareš: about 320 people were killed in the villages of Brgule and Mikulje. At that time, Jure Francetić was stationed in Sarajevo. When he heard about the massacre, he hurried to the area of the municipality of Vareš with his battalion. He was greeted by about twenty women, weeping and in black. He asked them if they knew who had committed the rapes and massacre, because he would punish the perpetrators. The massacre was found to have been committed by radicalized Muslim Communist sympathizers from surrounding villages. The Orthodox ended up taking revenge for the massacre by killing everyone but the Children in the nearby Croatian Catholic village of Mir.
Later, investigating the circumstances of the massacre, Francetić gave an order to examine the bodies, in order to find someone who could still be helped. Among the dead they found a living boy. When asked what his name was, the boy replied that his name was Sreto Gorančić. His entire family was killed, but his mother's body was not there. Seeing that the boy was left without anyone anywhere, Francetić decided to adopt him.

He took him to Zagreb and Sreto started living with him and his wife. Unfortunately, shortly after that, the plane crash happened, after which Francetić was captured and killed. Little Sreto continued to live with his stepmother until 1957. Sreta's mother survived that terrible massacre and took refuge in the woods. After the war, she continued to inquire about her son and finally found him with the help of the Red Cross. Sreto returned with his mother to his native village of Brgule. He graduated in Zagreb with very good grades and intended to go to university.
