Where I'm sitting? Where I've been? What I've seen? What I've learned? Take it with a pinch of salt, or a truckload, if you so desire. I don't care.
But I'm telling anybody who will listen:

you will never, ever, get a whole mess of bods on the streets, all armed, and marching into the line of fire. No fizzing way. Poppycock. You can wear camo, march up and down, play games in the woods. Oil your bang-bangs. Means squat.

A billion excuses to stay at home. And cook dinner for the kids.

At the same time, it is extremely hard, next to impossible, for even the most ruthless 'government' or 'wannabe dictator', to EVER fully defeat a home grown, determined, well organized, committed, willing to die for their beliefs, paramilitary force defending its home turf, and cherished ancestral homelands. Using deadly force.

Most people, especially mealy-mouthy Government and state actors, in the final analysis, ONLY respect strength and or PAIN. Anything and everything else is (mis?) interpreted as weakness, and an open invitation to keep pushing harder. And harder. And... even harder.
America, my home, the paradise I love, is at a cross roads. I still hope that cooler minds will prevail. That integrity & honesty will triumph over what certainly appears to be blatant, in-your-face, criminal illegality. However, I suspect, sadly, that the hope for a peaceful resolution? Is fading. Becoming pie-in-the-sky.

It seems more probable that America will either go down with a pitiful whimper, slithering feebly down the slippery slope, to a one party Venezuelan tragedy.

A stone cold, sober, Realist. Who learned?

To shoot, and fight.

When the sonnet loving poet meets the thug with a club?

History is a fickle mistress. Kings and knaves, scholars and bumpkins, have had their shot at predicting the stubborn cow.
And how many times? Has the blessed beast, with a mind of its own, defying all predictions?
