'''Rodney King''' (1965 – June 2012) was an American [[Black]] most known for a police beating while being arrested that led to the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The riots, mainly by Blacks, burned more than 5,300 buildings and caused the deaths of 58 people. More than 2,300 people were injured and 227 of them critically.<ref name=rk/>

The [[politically correct]] mass media has been argued to have a large responsibility for the riots by misleading descriptions of the arrest as due to White [[racism]]. However, one of the policemen was Hispanic.
