The publication printed three volumes between June 1964 and March 1966, for a total of twenty issues. A range of topics were covered throughout the journal including anthropology, biology, history, philosophy, and politics.

The publication promoted the philosophy and ideology of [[Francis Parker Yockey]] and his work ''[[Imperium]]''. ''Western Destiny'' closed when Willis Carto gained and controlled the prestigious magazine ''[[The American Mercury]]'' in 1966.
