A North Carolina native, Williams was still in high school when he joined the Army in the mid-1960s. ''“I wasn’t fighting for the Constitution and the flag and apple pie and all that crap,”'' he said. ''“It was an adventure. I wanted to kill [[communists]].”'' He completed two tours of duty in the [[Vietnam War]].

Williams dropped out of the workforce as a taxpayer in 1985, becoming a 'starving artist' and a full-time political activist. He joined [[Frazier Glenn Miller|Glenn Miller]]'s [[White Patriot Party]] in the spring of 1985.

In 1992, Williams became Membership Coodinator for [[William Pierce]]'s [[National Alliance]] continuing with the Alliance until Dr. Pierce's death in 2002.

In 2008, Will Williams ran as a [[Ron Paul]] delegate from Tennessee to attend the Republican National Convention. Williams lost the race, receiving 12,000 votes.

In December 2013, [[Kevin Strom]] announced the re-formation of the National Alliance as a new corporation under Williams' leadership.<ref>Kevin Strom.
