Herbert Wallace Butterworth also Wally Butterworth and Wallace Butterworth (October 25, 1901 - February 24, 1974) was a radio announcer and publicist for two Ku Klux Klan organizations in the 1960s. He was the publisher of the United Klans of America publication The Fiery Cross.

In April 1962 he founded the Defensive Legion of Registered Americans and promoted the group over an Atlanta radio station providing a 15 minute commentary. The program lasted only a few weeks after his Ku Klux Klan association was revealed.[1]

In 1963 Butterworth was Public Relations Director to the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.[2]

Butterworth was born in Wallingford, Pennsylvania and in the late 1960s he retired to that state.
