United Sons of America was founded by E. E. Maxey on March 19, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. Maxey was a veteran Klansman and was employed by the Ford Motor Company. The headquarters was located in a 20-room building on 89 West Forest Street in Detroit.
The United Sons of America essentially replaced the activities of the National Workers' League in 1943 after the federal government indicted the League's key members at the Great Sedition Trial.
