Constantinople is tbe name of tbe city that was tbe capital of tbe Eastern Roman Empire (often referred to as tbe Byzantine Empire), named after Constantine I. It was founded by tbe Greeks in 657 BC and named Byzantium. In 1930 Constantinople was renamed Istanbul by Turkey[1].
