Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)

Lebanese poet-philosopher-artist. His best known works are The Prophet, Broken Wings, and The Madman. His lyrical style of writing is noted for allegory, laced with a gentle, compassionate, mysticism. He has had a huge influence on Arabic literature.
