Orenthal James "O. J." Simpson (born 1947) is an American Black most known for his alleged involvement in the 1994 murders of his White ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and the Jewish Ronald Goldman.

In 1995 Simpson was acquitted in a criminal trial. The prosecution had a large amount of argued supporting technical evidence including DNA evidence. However, Simpson's defense successfully argued that it may have been manipulated by racist policemen. The widely publicized trial divided the United States along racial lines on whether Simpson was guilty. Of the twelve jurors, nine were Black, two White, and one Hispanic.[1]

However, in 1997 a civil court awarded a $33.5 million judgment against Simpson for wrongful deaths.

In 2008, he was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for 33 years for crimes such as armed robbery and kidnapping.
