St. Thomas Aquinas was an Italian Dominican friar and priest, an influential philosopher and theologian, and ajurist in the tradition of scholasticism from the county of Aquino in present-day Lazio, Italy; he is known as the Doctor Angelicus, the Doctor Communis, and the Doctor Universalis.
