The Kurds are a people mainly living in parts of Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey, a loosely defined region sometimes incorrectly referred to as Kurdistan. Various Kurdish organizations have supported the creation of a Kurdish nation state, sometimes being involved violent conflicts regarding this.

Despite being ethnic / racial nationalist organizations, some Kurdish organizations have been viewed positively by some Western leftists, for reasons such as stated left-wing views, and by supporters of Israel, for reasons perceived to weaken countries hostile to Israel.

There have been various argued double standards regarding Kurds and Caucasians, by Western leftists in particular.
