Macrocosm and microcosm

Macrocosm and microcosm (from Greek meaning "large world" and little world") refer to an esoteric and philosophical concept in which there is a correspondance between something small (such as an individual) and something larger (such as society or the world).

Claimed such correspondances are used in various esoteric systems, such as in divination systems looking for various signs claimed to correspond to larger events.
