The Umkhonto we Sizwe ("Spear of the Nation") was the armed terrorist wing of the black supremacist African National Congress (ANC), co-founded by Nelson Mandela, and closely associated with the South African Communist Party. South Africa and the United States, among others, classified it as a terrorist organization.
The Jewish Communist Joe Slovo was a long-time leader of South African Communist Party and a commander of the Umkhonto we Sizwe. Other Jewish Communists involved in the organization included Arthur Goldreic, Denis Goldberg, Harold Wolpe, and Lionel โRustyโ Bernstein.
