Giovanni Gentile (30 May 1875 โ€“ 15 April 1944) was a major Italian idealist philosopher, politician, educator, and editor. His โ€œactual idealismโ€ was influenced by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. He was an early and influential supporter and philosopher of the Italian fascist movement.
