Walter Anderson Bailey (September 25, 1906 - November 12, 1966) was the President and Imperial Wizard of the Mississippi Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. The group was founded in 1958 and lasted to 1964. Bailey was from Biloxi, Mississippi and considered his organization an independent Klan with no affiliation with any other type Klan.
Walter Bailey was born in Springfield, Tennessee. He lived in New York and Detroit before he settle down in Biloxi, Mississippi. Bailey was in the restaurant and fishing tackle business. On December 30, 1933 he married a woman from Brooklyn while living in New York City. They had no children. In an FBI interview Bailey claimed to be an atheist.
