William John Miles also W. J. Miles (August 27, 1871 - January 10, 1942) founded the Australian branch of the Rationalist Press Association and in 1914 published the Sydney Rationalist Annual. In July 1935 he started the Independent Sydney Secularist.
He was also the publisher of the Australian magazine The Publicist. Due to his poor health, he turned over The Publicist to Percy Stephensen on January 1, 1942. Miles died nine days later.
