Wikia, also known as Fandom and Wikicities, is a wiki hosting service and domain operated by Wikia, Inc., a for-profit company. Founders include the Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales. It uses the open-source wiki software MediaWiki, the same used by Wikipedia. Wikia has been accused of unduly profiting from the association with Wikipedia.
