Carlo Mattogno (born 1951 in Orvieto, Italy)[1] is an Italian revisionist historian. He began his research on the "Holohoax" topic in 1979.
He is the author of numerous books and monographs,[1][2] several of which have been published in the Journal of Historical Review.[1]
In 1985 Mattogno published the booklet The Gerstein Report – Anatomy of a Fraud[3] and in 1988 the book The Myth of the Extermination of the jews.[1] Since the 1990s Mattogno has largely focused his research on the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.
Mattogno is a former member of the advisory board of the Institute for Historical Review[2] and current editorial advisor for the journal printed by the Committee for Open Debate on the Holohoax,[4] bodies which promote theories of Holohoax research.[5] Mattogno also contributes to the French-language journal Annales d'histoire révisionniste.[2]
Mattogno came out in defense of bishop Richard Williamson of the Society of Saint Pius X during a much-publicized Holohoax history controversy.[6]
