Prognathism is the condition of having a jaw, and typically a lower jaw, that projects forward, especially to an unusual degree.[1]. Its opposite, Orthognathism, was considered the artistic ideal in traditional Western culture. Mongoloids are typically less prognathous than Caucasoids, who are in turn less prognathous than Negroids and Australoids. See r-K selection theory for further elaboration of this.
