Kamau Rashidi Kambon, born Leroy Jefferson (b. c. 1945 in Raleigh, North Carolina), is a Afro-American radical black supremacist, race hustler and racist demagogue who called for the extermination of the white race.
Life
Kambon claims he holds a B.A. degree in education/history, and a master's degree in physical education, both an M.A. and an M.Ed. degree in education/administration, and an Ed.D. in urban education/curriculum and instruction. He claims he was a New England high school social studies and geography teacher. Kambon was an assistant professor at Saint Augustine's University, a private historically black Christian college in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 1982 to 2000 and taught two courses at North Carolina State University between 2001 and 2005. He unsuccessfully sued St. Augustine's College for age discrimination after his contract was not renewed.
He has appeared on television and news programs discussing such topics as: "Kwanzaa," "The Unsolved Murders of Black Women-Are the Police Doing All They Can?," "Food and Health of Black People," "Academic Achievement of Black Children; the Role of Parents in Education," and "Community Development." In 2006, he received some media attention for a speech he made the previous year in which he called for the extermination of white people. He currently resides in Wendell (7700 Roberts Rd), North Carolina.
Character
Kambon was the owner since 1994 of "BlackNificent Books", which sold Afrocentric material but went out of business 2012. Kamau Kambon states on his family website that he is about several things:
- Dedicated to Afrikan Liberation
- Dedicated to his family
- Dedicated to his race
- Dedicated to a solution to THE PROBLEM[1][2]
African Studies Professor
A professor at North Carolina State University (NCSU) since 2003, he has taught a number of Afrocentric courses, including "Africana Studies 241", listed as "Introduction to African-American Studies II,", described as "Second in a two-semester sequence in the interdisciplinary study of sub-Saharan Africa, its arts, culture, and people, and the African-American experience.โ Another course he taught was "AFS 240: African Civilization," described as: โAn interdisciplinary study of centers of African civilization from antiquity to the 1960s. Such centers include ancient Egypt, Nubia, Axum, Ghana, Mali, Songhai, Kilwa, Malinda, Sofola, Zinzibar and Monomotapa.โ
Call for genocide (2005)
- "The problem on the planet is white people ... We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet, to solve this problem."
These were Kambon's words during his address to a panel on "Hurricane Katrina Media Coverage" at Howard University Law School in Autumn 2005. His 10-minute speech aired uninterrupted on the cable television network C-SPAN. Kambon's diatribe ended thusly:
- And then finally I want to say that we need one idea, and weโre not thinking about a solution to the problem. [...] Now, how do I know that white people know that we are going to come up with a solution to the problem? I know it because they have retina scans, they have what they call "racial-profiling", DNA banks, and they're monitoring our people, to try to prevent "the one" person from coming up with "the one idea". And the one idea is, how we are going to exterminate white people because that, in my estimation, is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet, to solve this problem. [...] [We need to] get very serious and not be diverted from coming up with a solution to the problem and the problem on the planet is white people.
Applause from a number of blacks in the audience followed.
- "I donโt care whether you clap or not, but Iโm saying to you that we need to solve this problem because they are going to kill us."
Kambon's remarks were immediately challenged by other members of the panel, including its organizer, filmmaker Opio Sokoni. Sokoni later told a writer for the Raliegh News Observer: "The people at that conference do not support the extermination of white people. That is ridiculous. You can't back up a statement like that. It is immoral. Even the most radical people don't talk like that."
Reactions
- In a speech given on October 14, 2005 by Kamau Rashidi Kambon (real name Leroy Jefferson), a former professor of African Studies at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, which was televised live on the C-SPAN cable channel, he said that the solution to many of the problems faced by black people would be to "wipe white people off the face of the earth." Previously, Kambon had claimed in his speech that black people were at war and that white people had set up an "international plantation" for black people, which meant that every white person was a plantation owner. Kambon said the long-term goal of whites is to kill dark-skinned people. Then he told his listeners that either they supported white people in their plans or they supported the liberation of black people. He ended the talk by emphasizing that the problem was white people. [...] Of course, the poor man's head is not quite right, to say the least. However, this clearly shows that such idiots are of all races as well as other types of people.[3]
Because of political correctness, the racist rant was initially not reported by any major media. Its only non-Internet exposure came from its mention on minor political-dissident radio, such as Republic Broadcasting Network. As these were the early days of Internet streaming video (See Youtube), it circulated to only a small audience that way. Reference to the incident remains forbidden by politically-correct media: 0 references to the call for extermination are found in New York Times and Washington Post archives.
North Carolina State also issued a denunciation. Provost Larry Nielsen said:
- "This type of speech is counter to any reasoned discussion on the issue of race relations, and is absolutely unacceptable in the NC State community."
Students, faculty and staff interviewed for the student newspaper of North Carolina State University, "Technician said they were surprised and dismayed by the comments. Also in 2005, NCSU removed Kambonโs name from the Africana web page, and Provost Larry Nielsen released the following statement:
- โThe remarks recently attributed to one of our former employees do not in any way represent the values and standards of the university. This type of speech is counter to any reasoned discussion on the issue of race relations, and is absolutely unacceptable in the NC State community.โ
Howard University, where the panel had met 2005, distanced itself from Kambon's statements on its website:
- The Howard University School of Law rented out space on October 14, 2005 for a panel discussion by Black media groups on Hurricane Katrina and Issues Facing African Americans. The event was neither planned nor sanctioned by Howard University. Dr. Kamau Kambon was a speaker at this event. Dr. Kambon is in no way affiliated with Howard University. The statements of Dr. Kambon do not in any way reflect the views of Howard University or the School of Law. We totally repudiate the statements expressed by Dr. Kambon.[4]
Quotes
By Kambon/Jefferson
- "I am Afrikan, and see myself connected to Afrikans all over the world."
- "I have not celebrated a european holiday since around 1970."
- "White people want to kill us. I want you to understand that. They want to kill you. They want to kill you because that is part of their plan."[5]
By critics
- I can't believe this "professor" made these remarks. I am a 54 year old white female from a family of nine children. We probably were the poorest kids in school; as a matter of fact, I received one of two $50.00 gift certificates in junior high for being one of the poorest student at our high school. We were on free lunch and were on federal assistance when my father hurt his back. But my mom went to Ryan Airport in Baton Rouge, LA and we often stayed in line with her for hours to receive "commodities". The federal system should go back to that assistance. We actually got food not food stamps which you can resell. Also, why say whites have bloodlust for blacks. Black men were peeking in our windows to try and catch us undressing because we didn't have air conditioning therefore leaving the windows open. We also all got jobs at the age of 15; I personally worked at a Morgan & Lindsay every evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. after school. I also didn't answer my customers like they were a piece of shit. I would have been fired on the spot. These young people at McDonald's and Burger King could care less about their quality of work. They are either on their cell phone or talking to one another and not paying attention to what they are doing. I can't tell you how many times I got the wrong order. It's just gotten to the point that I tell my family "eat what's in the bag". If I sound bitter, I am. I am so tired of having the "black" issue thrown in our faces. Their isn't one black person alive that was a slave once upon a time and probably didn't have a grandparent that was a slave either. My mom and dad and their parents lived off their land, working their ass off. So Kamau Kambon, enough already!! Get over yourself.
- Hate and paranoia about non-existent anti-black "genocidal" plots wont empower or help blacks, as "professor" Kambon seems to think. It only makes them look foolish to mobilize against a threat which doesnt exist. There is no covert genocidal war against blacks being perpetrated by whites. There is, however, a war against whites being perpetrated by blacks, mestizos and other aggrieved racial groups aided by zionist jews, against whites; the same jews who occupy our government and control our mass media. The rest may be blamed on the black`s own genes, which will forever prevent them from being the equals of whites and which will keep them perpetually hostile against whites. Separation of blacks and whites, not extermination of whites, is the only solution.
- lf a white prof said this, it'd have been all over the news within minutes. I can't believe even one person would try to deflect responsibility from this, no matter how long ago it was or who did the report. Sad state of affairs when ppl are taking up his cause, even indirectly.[6]
- That is former North Carolina State University professor Kamau Kambon who made that now famous comment that, quote, "all white people should be exterminated". Well, today โHannity & Colmesโ, we sent our cameras to Mr. Kambon's book store โ it's called "Blacknificent"โ to give him a chance to respond. Here's what happened. Can I ask you a few questions? Do you still โ do you still believe that white people should be exterminated? Dr. Kambon, give me a few minutes to ask you a quick couple questions. You can tear clarify what you had to say. Do you still believe white people should be exterminated? How would you go about doing it? How can you be against the death penalty when you want all white people exterminated? Dr. Kambon, come on, talk to me for a few minutes. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes? Tell me about your store? I want to hear more about how you think AIDS was designed to kill black people. Dr. Kambon, do you still believe all white people should be exterminated? Do you consider yourself a racist? Dr. Kambon, where was the last place you taught? Why won't you say anything to us? We want to invite you to come on our program and tell us your side of the story. You have every chance to talk about it. We really do want to hear what you have to say. Do you still believe it or not? Can I buy a book in there that will tell me about it? Come on, Dr. Kambon, there's a chance to really get your side of the story out.[7]
- Hashim Nzinga, Chief of Staff, is a longtime member of the NBPP and Malik Shabazz's deputy [...] Nzinga's bigotry is not limited to jews or supporters of Israel. Referring to two white men charged with the murder of an African-American man in Texas in 2009, Nzinga called on Attorney General Eric Holder in August 2009 to "prosecute these white beasts" and "get down here to Paris, Texas, and give these white boys some Texas justice." During a December 2005 appearance on FOX's Hannity & Colmes, he expressed agreement with a statement by Kamau Kambon, a professor at North Carolina State University, calling for the extermination of white people.[8]
Family
Kambon is married to Dr. Mawiyah Kambon and is father of Nataki and Obadele. He is often associated with Kobi Kambon (no relation), Ashra Kwasi, Leonard Jeffries, and James Small.
