Icelandic literature is a body of writings in the Icelandic language, including those from Old Icelandic (also called Old Norse) through Modern Icelandic, notably the Eddas, sagas, and skaldic poetry, which are major sources of knowledge of the early Icelandic / Norse / Germanic peoples, notably Norse mythology.
