Hans Stark

Hans Stark (1921 - 1991) was a non-commissioned (later commissioned) SS officer, who during some time periods was stationed at Auschwitz, with responsibilities such as registering new arriving inmates.

Stark has been described as a "Crown Witness" at the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials. Since he was classified as a minor at time of his alleged crimes (including allegedly participating in murders), he was sentenced to only ten years and released after only four, since he had already been in custody for six years before the sentencing. Holocaust revisionists have criticized his account for reasons such as many argued absurdities and inconsistencies and argued that he was simply "roughly parroting the version of Auschwitz which had been broadcasted by the propaganda for more than 20 years". Stark stated that he had always been interested in newspaper stories on Auschwitz.
