The Eskimo or Eskimos are a group of peoples inhabiting the Arctic and subarctic regions of Greenland, Canada, the United States, and far eastern Russia (Siberia). Specific peoples include the Yupik and the Inuit (who are included in but not synonymous with the broader group Eskimos).
The term Eskimo may be considered offensive, but there does not seem to be a common alternative, and even politically correct encyclopedias such as Wikipedia now use the term Eskimo.
