Brons was voted onto the National Front's national directorate in 1974 and was Chairman of the National Front between 1980 and 1984. He joined the British National Party in 2005 and was elected to the European Parliament for the party in 2009. In 2012, Brons and several others founded the British Democratic Party with himself as the leader.
