Ruth Westheimer (born 4 June 1928), initially known as Karola Ruth Siegel, best known as Dr. Ruth, is a Jewish sex therapist, talk radio and television show hostess, media personality, writer, and Zionist. She contributed to the sexual revolution.
Originally from Germany, she later moved to Palestine, France, and the United States. She has stated that her parents were killed in the Holocaust. In Palestine, she joined the Haganah and was trained as a sniper and scout. She fought for Israel during the 1947–1949 Palestine war.
