Murray Rothbard (2 March 1926 – 7 January 1995) was a jewish American economist of the Austrian School and political theorist. Rothbard was a founder and leading theoretician of anarcho-capitalism and a central figure in the 20th-century American libertarian movement.
He worked within the Libertarian Party during the 1970s and 1980s, and helped found the Cato Institute.
