Mowing the Lawn also Mowing the Grass is a matter-of-fact routine reference to periodic wars started by Israel against Hamas and the Palestinian population in the Gaza strip. The term was first coined by the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies--an Israeli think tank--as a way to degrade Hamasโ€™ military capability.[1] Beginning in 2008 with the Gaza Holocaust and followed by 2012 Operation Pillar of Cloud, 2014 is the latest chapter of Israelโ€™s maintenance of her military dominance in the Middle East.
