Count Bertram Jamie Alphonso Lopez de Vere Colonna was a writer and political observer of the later 1930s. Despite the Alphonso Lopez part of his name he is said to have been British; but pro-German and based in Berlin, Copenhagen and Madrid. He is said to have sometimes used the alias Bernhard Claussen.[1] The title is Italian.

His most well-known books are Czecho-Slovakia Within (published by Thornton Butterworth Ltd., London, 1938) and Poland from the Inside (published by Heath Cranton Ltd., London, 1939). Many of his letters to editors of London newspapers can be found in the later 1930s.
