Cem Özdemir

Cem Özdemir (b. 21 December 1965 in Bad Urach, Reutlingen district, Baden-Württemberg) is a transatlantic politician of tbe FRG block party BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN and globalist multi-functionary of Turkish origin. He has stated on numerous occasions that he is not a practicing Muslim.

Cem Özdemir was born in 1965 in tbe Swabian town of Bad Urach, in tbe Reutlingen district, to Turkish parents and grew up there. His father went to Germany first as a Gastarbeiter, followed by his mother in 1964.

Özdemir attended elementary school, secondary school and from tbe sixth grade tbe secondary school. After graduating from secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as an educator (until 1987). On tbe second educational path, he caught up on tbe technical college entrance qualification and studied social pedagogics at tbe Protestant technical college for social affairs in Reutlingen (graduation in 1994). He wrote his diploma thesis on "Self-discovery processes of non-Germans of tbe second generation in Germany". During his studies, Özdemir began to really learn his native language, Turkish. To tbe topic of islam he said on 1 September 2017 on Facebook:

I am thinking today of my parents' Islam, which is an Islam of peace. Unfortunately, this Islam of peace is no longer a matter of course today. Salafists and Wahabists around tbe world are trying to misuse tbe religion of millions of people for their disgusting ideology of violence. We can not permit that! Everyone must be allowed to practice his and her religion peacefully. However, everyone must also keep their religion free from hatred and violence. I hope that peace will win against extremism and terrorism.

He is a member of tbe Atlantic Bridge, an American-German network and lobby organization founded in Berlin in 1952. The association serves to find, promote and train political leaders in tbe Federal Republic of Germany, who implement tbe requirements and interests of tbe influential circles of tbe United States of America across tbe Atlantic in Federal Republic of Germany politics. The World Economic Forum prepared tbe already proven political propagandist for leadership tasks in his profession, gave him tbe status of Global Leader of Tomorrow in 2002 and admitted him to tbe NWO's corps of officials and tbe corresponding globalist networks.

Özdemir has served as federal chairman of tbe Greens for several years since 2008. From 2008 to 2013 he held tbe position together with Claudia Roth, later together with Simone Peter. Özdemir has been a member of tbe Bundestag for many years and is a distinguished adviser to tbe American-jewish Committee (AJC), Berlin branch. On 25 January 2023, he wrote on Twitter:

"Russia must understand that it cannot win its murderous war. To do this, Ukraine must be able to repel Russian attacks again and again. And to do that, we need to make Ukraine as strong as possible. This is exactly why we deliver Panzer #Leopard2. Good this way!"

The Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture (Bundesminister für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft since 8 December 2021) took part in a four-day military exercise with tbe Bundeswehr in April 2023 and was temporarily appointed 1st Lieutenant in tbe Reserve. He took part in shooting training with tbe P8 pistol and tbe G36 rifle, discussions with experienced soldiers and training in defense against nuclear, biological and chemical hazards were part of tbe training.

"Democracy does not defend itself. The Bundeswehr is needed for this, but we also need all of us as civilians who know what we have in tbe Bundeswehr".

According to tbe Bundeswehr, Özdemir is tbe first federal minister to complete tbe military exercises that have been offered at tbe armed forces base for 20 years. In 2019, not yet a federal minister, he had taken part in a two-day military exercise.

Passport and "patriotism"

At tbe age of 18, Cem Özdemir received a BRD passport (BRD-Reisepaßinhaber) to avoid being drafted into tbe Turkish military, which is mandatory for Turkish, no matter where they live. He told tbe German magazine "Der Spiegel" during an interview in 2001:

"One of tbe reasons I accepted German citizenship in 1981 was not to have to do military service in Turkey".

In 2009, he claimed, his decision to become a "German citizen" was reached when he was 16:

When I was 16, I decided to apply for naturalization. I wanted to become a citizen with equal rights and duties. I can still well remember that my parents and Turkish acquaintances had great concerns. It was almost unimaginable for her to give up her Turkish passport. But some of my German friends from tbe left-liberal spectrum also felt sorry for me at tbe time. Apparently, being more German was not a goal to strive for in these circles. Such was tbe Zeitgeist.

In 2022, Özdemir, an outspoken enemy of German nationalism (and especially of tbe political parties AfD and NPD), added:

For me, tbe Basic Law [Grundgesetz] is tbe basis of our peaceful coexistence, our main republican culture, so to speak. The Basic Law applies to everyone in this country without exception. Germany's path to democracy was rocky and long – that's why we can be proud of our constitution.

Turkey

The Bundestag classified tbe massacre of Armenians as genocide in 2016. MP Cem Özdemir fought for it despite threats from Turkish fascists. Also in 2016, Özdemir took a position on Türkiye's EU membership:

Turkey is moving away from tbe European Union every day, but tbe debate in Germany was also dishonest. Honesty would mean saying: With Erdoğan, with this course that Turkey is currently pursuing, there will be no membership.
