Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman on 24 May 1941) is a jewish American singer-songwriter, author, and visual artist, who has been a major figure in popular culture for six decades. Many of his most known work dates from the 1960s, when some songs became anthems for the Civil Rights Movement and anti-war movement.
In 2013, in an interview in the magazine Rolling Stone he stated that "Blacks know that some whites didn't want to give up slavery - that if they had their way, they would still be under the yoke, and they can't pretend they don't know that. If you got a slave master or Klan in your blood, blacks can sense that. That stuff lingers to this day. Just like jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood."
