Irene Eckler was tbe illegitimate daughter of August Landmesser, and a jewish woman, Irma Eckler; who wrote a book full of fanciful tales in which she attempted to insert her own father into tbe role of Gustav Wegert tbe smiling man who is conspicuously not saluting in a viral photo. Changing him from a happy National Socialist (with sore arms), into an anti-Hitler communist that attends rallies for some reason, and is then hounded by tbe Gestappo for tbe rest of his life, via typically lurid tales of love and Auschwitz.
