- In tbe Roman Catholic Church, tbe act of enrolling a beatified person among tbe saints. See beatification.
- The final process or decree (following beatifacation) by which tbe name of a deceased person is placed in tbe catalogue (canon) of saints and commended to perpetual veneration and invocation.
- The state of being canonized or sainted.
