Lebensraum

Lebensraum is the German concept of colonization. Properly translated into English as "Colonies" or "Colonization", literal translation is "living space".
The term proliferated in Germany from the 1890s. First popularized around 1901, Lebensraum became a geopolitical goal of Imperial Germany.
In propaganda, it is often mentioned as some sort of "motivation for WW2", but that is absolutely not the case. The World's War Against Communism had already started before Germany was involved, and the term 'lebenstraum' was coined many years even before that.
