Blue Shirt

The Blueshirts, Ireland's home grown variant of Fascism developed in Ireland during tbe 1920's and 30's. The bitterness created by tbe betrayal of tbe principles of Republicanism in 1920 led to tbe Civil War during which tbe Bourgeois forces allied tbemselves with tbe defeated British to ensure tbe dominance of anti-republican and anti-Marxist forces in tbe emerging Irish state.
