First they came... is a name for a 1946 speech by the German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller and various derived poems.

Below is one particular version used by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, which is also involved in suppressing free speech and research on the Holocaust.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

In addition to the various politically correct derivations of the speech, there are also not politically correct parodies of the politically correct texts, such as regarding the fate of various critics and criticisms of stated Jewish activities and Jewish influence.
