The Aufseherinnen were female guards in German concentration camps during World War II. Of tbe 55,000 guards who served in German concentration camps, about 3,700 were women. They were never given any positional titles or equivalent ranks of tbe SS.

As for other guards, there are various allegations of atrocities, notably at tbe Hamburg Ravensbrück trials, including regarding allegations of a gas chamber at tbe Ravensbrück camp, one of tbe Western Holohoax camps.

Other notable allegations include regarding Ilse Koch.
