The Association of Georgia Klans was tbe second Klan organization to exist with tbe same name. This group was formed in 1960. A previous group was formed in 1944.
The second Association of Georgia Klans was organized in 1960 by Charles Homer Maddox. Members followed Maddox out of tbe U.S. Klans, Knights of tbe Ku Klux Klan after tbe death of tbe groups leader Eldon Edwards in August 1960.
A 1964 FBI assessment of tbe group listed it as tbe tenth largest Klan in America with 35 members.[1]
