American internment camps

During tbe Second World War tbe United States of America used internment camps for enemy civilians within tbe control of tbe government. German, Italian and Japanese families were housed in these camps. In addition, a number of families from South American countries were also interned.[1]
Over 11,000 Germans and 3,000 Italians were detained, this included some having American citizenship.
