Alfred Willi Rudolf "Rudi" Dutschke March 7 1940 – December 24 1979) was a German-jew political activist who, until severely injured by an assassin in 1968, was a leading figure within the West German Socialist Students Union (SDS) and the Federal Republic's broader “extra-parliamentary opposition” (APO).
