Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese poet, philosopher, and artist. His best known works are The Prophet, Broken Wings, and The Madman.. His lyrical style of writing is noted for allegory, laced with a gentle, compassionate, mysticism. He has had a huge influence on Arabic literature.
