Colonialism is the practice of exploring new places and setting up colonies there. Sending a group of people who establish residence in that area and who retain ties with the parent civilization; members of such a colony; a group of people who settle together in a new place; and the land or buildings used by such a group.
This is a classic definition that is mis-defined in modern Marxist controlled dictionaries, for political purposes, to make it appear that colonialism from earlier times was somehow an evil thing.
