A spider web chart is a visual diagram of connecting lines showing the relationship of various organizations and individuals in a two dimensional form. As the name implies the chart is similar to the web a spider spins in nature. Spider web charts are often used by political theorists to suggest the existence of a large conspiracy.

The first know spider web chart was developed by Lucia R. Maxwell in May 1923 at the behest of the United States War Department showing the interconnections of socialists and pacifists organizations leading back to communist Russia.
