Alexis Carrel (1873 - 1944) was a French surgeon who received the 1912 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for developing a method of suturing blood vessels.

Like many intellectuals before World War II, he supported eugenics, such as in his book Man, The Unknown‎ (1935).
