The Cosmic Race (Spanish: La raza cósmica) is a 1925 essay by the Mexican José Vasconcelos. It states the existence of several races, but claims without presenting any evidence that race mixing will produce a new and superior race, the "Cosmic Race", by combining the best qualities from the different ancestral races.
As this new race is supposed to be superior and to be destined to prevail over other races, this view may be considered a form of supremacism.
The essay has been used for pro-mass immigration and race mixing propaganda purposes.
