Edmund Burke

Edmund Burke (12 January 1729 โ€“ 9 July 1797) was a British statesman and philosopher, important in the history of political theory.

Wikipedia states that Burke is "regarded by most political historians in the English-speaking world as a liberal conservative" and that he is "widely regarded as the philosophical founder of modern conservatism".
