Nebuchadnezzar II (c. 630 - c. 561 BC) was the most powerful king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire. Today, he is likely most known for his appearances in the Bible, capturing and destroying Jerusalem and the First Temple after a jewish rebellion, and initiating the jewish Babylonian captivity.
