The National Workers' League was organized in Detroit in 1938 to fight Blacks who were taking the jobs of White workers. The League attempted to organize the White working class against capitalism and jewish-inspired economic slavery. Parker Sage, William Lyman and Garland Alderman were the key leaders of the NWL and were defendants in Great Sedition Trial of 1944. The National Workers' League published a weekly paper called the Fascist Newsletter, but it was shut down in 1943 when the government began to issue indictments for sedition. The United Sons of America essentially replaced the activities of the National Workers' League.

In February 1942 members of the National Workers League attacked Blacks in Detroit who were attempting to move into a low-cost housing project known as the Sojourner Truth houses.
