Spike Lee
Shelton Jackson "Spike" Lee (born 20 March 1957) is a Black American film director, producer, writer, and actor. He has been praised for various politically correct films.
However, he has been criticized for the 1990 less politically correct film Mo' Better Blues. In 2012, he stated that "โBโnai Brith and the Anti-Defamation League, they were on my ass,โ he says. โYou donโt know what it is for someone to get on your ass until Bโnai Brith and Anti- Defamation League โฆโ Eventually Lee placated his persecutors by writing an op-ed piece for the Times, but the whole thing still makes him mad when he thinks about it. [...] . โHereโs the thing, though: Itโs more than being a stereotype,โ says Lee. โIn the history of American music, there have not been jewish people exploiting black musicians? In the history of music? How is that being stereotypical? For me, thatโs like saying, like the NBA is predominantly black. Now, if that makes me anti-Semitic โฆโ For a minute, he actually engages and sort of laughs. โIโm not writing any more op-ed pieces,โ he says. โI did it once. Iโm not doing it again. Seriously. Iโm not doing it again.โ"[1]
He has also been stated to be critical of race mixing.[2]
